$225.00 · $37.50/hr · need $0.36/word

$0.15 × 1,500 words = $225.00. $225.00 ÷ 6 h = $37.50/hr. To hit $90.00: $90.00 × 6 ÷ 1,500 = $0.36/word. Words per page is blank, so per page is not calculated.

The formula

Fee = per-word rate × word count. Effective hourly = fee ÷ total hours. Per-word rate needed for the floor = hourly floor × total hours ÷ word count. Per page = per-word rate × words per page, and only when you type words per page. This card checks a per-word offer against an hourly floor. It is not a rate chart.

Questions

Fee is the per-word rate times the word count. Effective hourly is that fee divided by total project hours.

Hourly floor times total hours, divided by the word count.

What about translation and voiceover?

Those cards price from hours. Use this card to check a per-word offer against the same hourly floor.
