Official North America math: keep = subtotal + shipping reimbursement − commission − $10 if first marketplace order − processing. Commission = subtotal × 15% (marketplace) or 0% (Direct). Processing = subtotal × table % + $0.30. Default is a $200 wholesale first order, 30-day payout.
$10 is subtracted on marketplace first order because the same article says Faire charges it on top of 15%. Help’s payout formula line names commission and processing, not the $10 as its own term — we still take the $10 as a published charge.

Official Faire Help for North America (fetched 28 Aug 2026): free to join. Marketplace orders: 15% commission. A retailer who first discovered you on Faire: a one-time $10 new-customer fee on top of that 15%; reorders stay 15%. Faire Direct (your link, your relationship): 0% commission. Processing is the payout knob: 3.5% + $0.30 next day, 2.4% + $0.30 in 30 days, 1.9% + $0.30 in 60 days. Official formula: payout = order subtotal + shipping reimbursement − commission − processing. The standard commission rate for orders from the Faire marketplace is 15%. When a customer first discovers you on Faire’s marketplace, we charge a one-time new customer fee of $10 on top of the standard commission rate. The $10 new customer fee only applies to the first order from a new customer—future reorders will be at the standard 15% rate.

Three published machines, one wholesale order. A boutique that found the shop inside Faire pays you minus 15% (and $10 the first time). A boutique you emailed your Direct link pays you minus 0% commission. Both still hit processing. That is not a closet 10%, not Etsy’s listing + 6.5%, and not a consignment house split.

Payout amount = (order subtotal) + (shipping reimbursement) − (commission) − (payment processing fee). Order subtotal: cumulative wholesale cost of the items in your order, minus any brand-funded promotions. Shipping reimbursement: the cost of shipping (only applies when the order is fulfilled on your own, not using Ship with Faire). Commission: order subtotal × commission rate for given order type. Payment processing fee: item subtotal × payment processing fee.

Two details this card will not blur. Commission is on subtotal, not on shipping reimbursement — postage you are paid back is added, not shaved at 15%. The formula line writes processing as “item subtotal × fee”; the rate table also prints + $0.30. We apply both published pieces: percent of subtotal plus $0.30. We will not drop the thirty cents because the formula sentence omitted it, and we will not invent a second percent on the reimbursement line.
Help notes pricing in North America changed 5 July 2023. Brands outside North America get a different article: 15% reorders, a 10% first-order referral (25% first order), next-day 3% on order + shipping, Net 30 listed with no processing fees. That is leftover you type on this NA card — not the default.

Replacement orders keep the original commission rate; Help says the $10 is charged once and not on replacements or splits. We will not invent a second $10. Promoted Listings are an ad budget — type leftover, do not fold a blog’s “typical CPC” into this keep.
Direct policy (fetched 28 Aug 2026): 0% when the retailer uses your Direct tools, or when a documented commission-change request is approved. Uploading a customer list alone does not qualify. After 9 January 2025, documentation needs the Direct link. This card’s Direct preset is the published 0% commission — not a promise your last trade-show badge photo will clear. If the portal still took 15%, leave the path on marketplace.
After Faire remits ACH, the payment method that lands dollars in a non-US account is not this 15%. Canadian brands are paid USD ACH (Help names OFX as a possible provider — we will not invent that FX). Open Stripe vs Wise take-home for the payout-payment method cut, and the seller-fee hub if the same SKU also sells retail on another marketplace.
NA Help we fetched does not print Illinois vs California, VAT, or GST. Empty tax is not modeled. A $40 Depop tee and a $40 Marketplace lamp are different fee machines; this page stays on wholesale case packs. We will not clone a vs-X compare onto Faire.
