They bought it on GOAT. Here’s what you keep.

A GOAT sale is not a Bid/Ask match and not a $120 hoodie cliff. You name a listing price. When a buyer takes it, Fee Policy skims a seller-rating percent of that listing — 9.5% at rating 90 or above (12.4% if you are a Canadian seller) — then a location seller fee that is the prepaid-label or drop-off dollar (United States prepaid $5, drop-off $0). Cash-out is later: 2.9% when you ACH or PayPal the balance, not a processing percent at authentication. That machine is not StockX’s quarterly 9–7% plus 3% plus an estimated Verified label (same $200 listing: StockX vs GOAT → $171.00 vs $170.90), not Grailed’s 9%/6% $120 line with a Label switch, and not Whatnot’s 8% on the hammer (shipping excluded).

Independent — not affiliated with GOAT. Figures were copied from GOAT’s Fee Policy and Selling page on 28 Aug 2026 (America/Chicago). Live fetch (HTTP 200): Fee Policy (last updated 1 Aug 2026), Selling with GOAT (last updated 1 Aug 2026), and Support What are the commissions for selling on GOAT?. Gaps: Fee Policy does not print the dollar base for the 2.9% cash-out (remaining earnings vs listing) — this card applies it to remaining earnings after commission + seller fee, labeled as a planning assumption; Selling page carves Canadian sellers out of the 2.9% sentence and names a 3.1% cash-out for “certain sellers in select locations” with no location list — Fee Policy still prints a flat 2.9% and does not name 3.1%; cash-out floor is greater than $25 on Fee Policy and greater than $10.00 USD on the Selling page — we will not pick a winner; GOAT Clean (30% at $350 and below, 25% above) is described on Selling as including seller fee, cash-out, and shipping, while GOAT Clean Terms also mention a 2.9% cash-out — this card does not stack a second 2.9% on Clean unless you force it; promotional cash-out waivers have no published table; outside-US selling is “select sellers”; this page will not invent a state sales-tax table or a rating you did not earn. Match a settled payout before you restock. Worksheet only — not tax, legal, or accounting advice. No affiliate links.

Keep card (rating % + location seller fee + cash-out)

Official standard sale: commission = rating % of the listing price + the published location seller fee. Default row is a $200 US prepaid, rating 90+ listing. Cash-out default: 2.9% of remaining earnings (base not printed). Empty tax. Paste a different seller-fee dollar if your region is not in the list.

Canada uses the published Canadian commission cells. GOAT Clean ignores the rating ladder and the location seller fee because Selling says that commission already includes seller fee, cash-out, and shipping.

Rating, not a quarterly volume ladder

A commission fee is charged only when an item is purchased. The amount of the commission fee is 9.5% (or 12.4% for Canadian sellers) + seller fee. These fees will be deducted from the listing price.
Fee Policy, last updated 1 Aug 2026, fetched 28 Aug 2026 (HTTP 200)

Everyone starts at a seller rating of 90 and the minimum commission. Each seller cancellation knocks off 10 points. Each successful sale (confirm and ship an authentic item on time) adds 2 points. That is a cancellation score, not StockX Seller Level (quarterly sales count or quarterly dollar volume, 9% down to 7%). Do not paste a StockX Level 5 onto this keep.

Copied from Fee Policy and Support What are the commissions for selling on GOAT? (HTTP 200). Below 50 may also trigger an account review and a suspension from submitting items. Climb back to the minimum with successful sales.

12.4% is the Canadian commission cell. It is not 9.5% + 2.9% cash-out for a US seller. Unofficial “12.4% + $5” calculators that blend those lines are inventing a US rate Fee Policy does not print. This page will not.

The seller fee is the prepaid / drop-off dollar

Fee Policy’s “What is my seller fee?” table is a location list in U.S. dollars. It is not a shipping-percent of the listing, and it is not StockX Help’s estimated US $5 single-item base that “varies by item price, size, type, carrier, and location.” GOAT prints a number. United States prepaid shipping: $5. United States drop-off: $0. Canada matches those two cells. United Kingdom and Germany: drop-off $2, prepaid $5. Spain: $8 (no drop-off cell). “Other”: $30. Submitting from outside the United States is only available to select sellers.

The Selling page still tells you to tap Generate Label after you confirm the order and to drop the package with the courier on that prepaid label within 3 business days. Eligible sellers near Flight Club Los Angeles, New York, or Miami may be offered GOAT Group Drop-off instead of the label. If the drop-off option does not appear, Fee Policy’s $0 US drop-off cell is not yours to claim.

That $5 is why a cheap listing is a different animal. On a $40 US prepaid sale at 9.5%, commission is $3.80 and the seller fee is still $5.00 — the location dollar, not the percent, did the damage. Empty tax.

Cash-out is a withdrawal skim, not a sale-time 3%

When earnings are deposited through ACH direct deposit or PayPal, a 2.9% cash out fee will be applied. During promotional campaigns (e.g. free ACH direct deposits), GOAT may elect to reduce the cost of the cash out fee or waive it altogether. Sellers may cash out if their total earnings are greater than $25.
Fee Policy, Cash Out Fees

Earnings hit your GOAT balance after specialists verify the pair. The 2.9% fires when you move that balance to a bank or PayPal — it is not StockX Verified’s 3% payment processing on the Ask and not Grailed’s Stripe 3.49% + $0.49 at checkout. Leave the money on GOAT and this card’s cash-out line is $0 until you withdraw. Promo waivers exist; there is no published calendar of them.

Gaps we will not paper over. Fee Policy never says whether 2.9% sits on the listing or on remaining earnings. This card’s default is remaining earnings after commission + seller fee. The Selling page (same 1 Aug 2026 date) also says “unless you are a Canadian seller,” names a 3.1% cash-out for certain locations and currencies with no list, and prints a cash-out floor of $10.00 USD while Fee Policy prints $25. If your receipt disagrees, the receipt wins.

Same $200, US drop-off $0: $19.00 commission, $0 seller fee, $181.00 remaining, 2.9% cash-out $5.25 → keep $175.75. Same $200, rating 70–89 prepaid: 15% = $30.00 + $5.00 → $165.00 remaining → cash-out $4.79 → keep $160.21. One cancellation that drops you under 90 is a 5.5-point commission jump, not a vanished $5.

Cheap-pair trap, $40 US 90+ prepaid: 9.5% = $3.80 + $5.00 seller fee = $8.80 off the listing ($31.20 remaining) + 2.9% cash-out $0.90 → keep $30.30. Effective take is about 24%, not 9.5%. The location dollar did that.

Canadian $200, rating 90+, prepaid $5: 12.4% = $24.80 + $5.00 → $170.20 remaining. This card skips cash-out on that preset because the Selling page excepts Canadian sellers and Fee Policy does not print a Canadian cash-out cell. Do not invent 0% or 2.9% for CA.

GOAT Clean is a different bundle

Selling with GOAT (fetched 28 Aug 2026): a commission is only charged when an item sold with GOAT Clean is purchased. Sale price $350 and below → 30%. All other items → 25%. That commission “includes the seller fee, cash out fee, and shipping.” On a $200 Clean pair that is $60.00, keep $140.00 before COGS — if you take Selling at its word and do not stack a second 2.9%.

GOAT Clean Terms also mention a 2.9% cash-out after the 30%/25% line. That is a documented conflict. This card’s Clean preset does not add the extra 2.9%. Flip cash-out on if your payout does. Do not price a standard listing as if it were Clean, and do not price Clean as if it were 9.5% + $5.

Not a Bid/Ask ladder, not a $120 Label, not a live hammer

Same $200 sold item, empty extras, planning only — different machines:

StockX Verified L1 9% of Ask + 3% processing + US $5 estimated label → keep $171.00 Quarterly Seller Level. Processing at the match. Estimated label, not a location table. Same $200: StockX vs GOAT.

GOAT is an authentication marketplace with a cancellation rating and a location seller-fee table. The fee math follows that. It is not a 50-state sales-tax calculator and it is not a “StockX and GOAT are both ~12.4%” blend.

Maintenance $1 is not a sale fee

Fee Policy: if a seller account has no registered activity for at least two years, GOAT may charge a monthly Maintenance Fee of $1 to the balance. “Registered activity” includes listing, completing a sale, placing an offer, making a purchase, or logging in. It applies only to return addresses in a printed list of US states and DC, never reduces a balance below $0, and is emailed first. This keep card does not model it.

FAQ

What do you keep on a $200 US 90+ prepaid sale?

Planning: $19.00 commission + $5.00 seller fee + $5.10 cash-out (2.9% of the $176.00 remaining) = $170.90 from the $200 listing. Empty tax. Not a payout screenshot. Fee Policy does not print this keep; the percents and the $5 cell are official.

Is 12.4% the US all-in rate?

No. 12.4% is the Canadian good-standing commission. US good-standing commission is 9.5% + seller fee. Cash-out 2.9% is a separate withdrawal line. Do not add them into a fake US 12.4%.

Do I pay a separate shipping percent?

Not in Fee Policy. The location seller fee is the prepaid or drop-off dollar. US prepaid $5, US drop-off $0. Paste a different cell if your address is not the United States.

Is GOAT Clean the same 9.5%?

No. Selling prints 30% at $350 and below and 25% above, and says that percent includes seller fee, cash-out, and shipping. Do not run Clean through the rating table.

Is this a 50-state tax engine?

No. Empty tax = $0 extra. Fee Policy prices the listing and a location seller fee. We will not invent Illinois vs California.
