You keep
Keep $42.50 from a $50.00 Amazon sale
Official US formula, planning only: keep = sale − referral − closing you type − leftover $ you type. Sale = item × qty + shipping you charged + gift wrap you charged. Referral = the greater of (sale × leftover %) or (per-unit min × qty). Default is a $50 Home and Kitchen kitchen scale, qty 1, leftover 15% typed from that published row, min $0.30 typed because that row prints it, Professional plan (calendar, $0 on this unit), empty FBA, empty closing. Change leftover to your fee-preview percent.
15% × $50.00 = $7.50 (above $0.30 floor). Professional month not in this unit. Planning only — not a payout screenshot.
This is a Selling on Amazon storefront checkout — a $50 kitchen scale sitting in Home and Kitchen, a $50 USB hub sitting in Computers — not an approved Handmade mug and not a consignment house. Official public pricing (US, fetched 28 Aug 2026): Individual $0.99 per item sold, Professional $39.99 per month. Referral is not one percent. It is the category row: a leftover percent you type, or the published minimum on that row, whichever is greater. Total price = list + shipping + gift wrap. Media (Books / DVD / Music / Software / Video) also prints a $1.80 closing fee per item. Empty FBA = $0 — the Revenue Calculator is named, not priced here. Keep = sale − referral you type − closing you type − leftover $ you type. That is not Amazon Handmade’s 15% or $0.30 with Professional waived after month one.
Individual: $0.99 / item sold. Professional: $39.99 / month. Referral fees vary by product category. For every item sold, you’ll pay a percentage of the total price or a minimum amount, whichever is greater. An item’s total price includes its list price, as well as shipping costs and any gift-wrapping charges.

The $39.99 is a calendar charge. This keep card will not amortize $39.99 into the $50 scale as if it were a per-unit fee. Type it in leftover $ only when you are stress-testing that month’s cash. Individual’s $0.99 is per item sold — the Individual preset adds it. Do not blend $0.99 into a Professional default. Do not invent a “processing 2.9% + $0.30” on top of referral because a blog did; the pricing page we fetched does not print a card-processing line as a third selling fee.
The public table is long on purpose. We will not reprint it. A short published sample — leftover percents you can type into the card — from the same 28 Aug 2026 fetch:
| Published row (US pricing page) | Referral you can type | Min / closing if shown |
|---|---|---|
| Home and Kitchen | 15% | $0.30 min |
| Computers | 8% | $0.30 min |
| Consumer Electronics | 8% | $0.30 min |
| Everything Else | 15% | $0.30 min |
| Media — Books, DVD, Music, Software, Video | 15% | $1.80 closing per item (no $0.30 min printed on this row) |
| Amazon Device Accessories | 45% | $0.30 min |
| Clothing and Accessories | 5% / 10% / 17% by price band | $0.30 min — type the band that matches your sticker |
Clothing is a band, not a single leftover. Type 5, 10, or 17 from the published breakpoints ($15 / $20), not an invented blend. Jewelry, furniture, grocery, and the rest of the table exist on the official page — open it, type that leftover. A product’s fee category may not match the browse node the shopper sees. Confirm fee preview. Source: sell.amazon.com/pricing.
Professional storefront order: one $50 Home and Kitchen kitchen scale. Empty shipping. Empty gift wrap. Empty FBA. Leftover 15% typed from the published Home and Kitchen row. Min $0.30 typed because that row prints it. Closing empty (not media).
Amazon does not publish this $50 keep. The 15% and the $0.30 for Home and Kitchen are official; the subtraction is ours. Source: sell.amazon.com/pricing. Type a different leftover, include postage, or paste FBA when that is the settlement. Not a payout screenshot.
| What you typed | Referral / extra | Keep (empty FBA) |
|---|---|---|
| $50 Home & Kitchen leftover 15% (default) | $7.50 | $42.50 |
| $50 Computers leftover 8% | $4.00 | $46.00 |
| $18 media leftover 15% + typed $1.80 closing | $2.70 + $1.80 = $4.50 | $13.50 |
| $50 + $6 ship you type, leftover 15% of $56 | $8.40 | $47.60 |
| $50 Individual: leftover 15% + published $0.99 | $7.50 + $0.99 = $8.49 | $41.51 |
| $1.50 leftover 15% hits typed $0.30 min | $0.30 (15% would be $0.23) | $1.20 |
$0.30 ÷ 0.15 = $2.00 is where a typed 15% overtakes a typed $0.30 min on a one-unit sale. Media’s $1.80 closing is a separate published line — it is not the $0.30 min, and it is not Handmade.
Pricing-page footnote 4: in addition to the referral fee, media items incur a closing fee $1.80 per item. Empty closing on this card = $0. Type 1.80 only when the SKU is that media row. We will not drop $1.80 onto a kitchen scale.
FBA is named as an optional program. The public page points estimates at the Revenue Calculator and prints no pick/pack band here. Empty leftover $ = $0. Type the Estimated fee per unit from Manage Inventory when that unit actually went FBA. Pasting a blog’s “small standard” dollar would be inventing a weight mill.
Amazon Handmade is an application-gated artisan program: 15% or $0.30 per unit shipped, Professional $39.99 waived after month one. This page is the regular storefront. Professional stays on the calendar. Referral is leftover category %. Do not paste Handmade’s waived month onto a Home and Kitchen ASIN.
The pricing page we fetched does not print Illinois vs California, and does not say whether tax sits in the referral base. Empty tax is not modeled. If your disbursement skims referral of a tax dollar you never keep, paste the sale that actually settled.
Gaps we will not paper over: Seller Central G200336720 (walled / busy on this fetch); a 50-category mill; FBA size/weight/storage dollars; 50-state sales tax; UK/EU percents the US pricing page does not print; amortizing $39.99 into the $50 scale as if it were a per-sale fee; Handmade’s waived Professional month (different program page).
Individual $0.99 per item sold. Professional $39.99 per month. Referral is leftover category % you type, or the published min on that row, whichever is greater. Media closing $1.80 if that row. Last checked 28 Aug 2026 from sell.amazon.com/pricing.
No. Handmade waives Professional after month one and uses a flat 15% or $0.30 artisan formula. This page is regular Selling on Amazon. Open Amazon Handmade fees explained for that program.
Pricing page: total price includes shipping and gift wrap. Type postage when it sat on the order. Empty ship = $0 here.
Planning, leftover 15% typed, $0.30 min typed, empty ship, empty FBA: $50 − $7.50 − $0 = $42.50. Professional $39.99 is not in this unit. Not a payout screenshot.
Published on the media row (Books, DVD, Music, Software, Video), on top of that 15% referral. Empty closing = $0 on a kitchen scale. Type 1.80 when the SKU is media.
No. It is a calendar charge on Professional. Type it in leftover $ only if you are sketching that month’s cash. Individual adds the published $0.99 per item when you pick that plan.
No. You type leftover %. A short published sample is above. Confirm fee preview on the listing.
