They want the work, not your name on it. Here’s the extra.

The quote assumed you can show the work. Now they want it white-label — no case study, no name on the file, a pack they can pass as in-house. Type the hours you will actually spend stripping credits and rebuilding a nameless export, plus your hourly floor. Extra is that product. Restyling onto their letterhead becomes extra hours you type, not a ghosting percent. This card will not invent “white label is 20% of the project,” a portfolio-value multiplier, or a 50-state tax engine.

Copy-paste sentence (no byline / no case study):

Next money on this hub:

The quote assumed a byline. They asked it off.

A 2026 thread still reads “don’t put your name on it,” “we’ll present this as ours,” or “no Behance, no case study, take the credit line off the cover.” That is not extra screens. That is not locking you off other clients. That is hours to pull studio type, watermarks, metadata, and a “designed by” block, then rebuild a pack with nobody’s name on it. Bill that strip-and-rebuild clock at the hourly floor already sitting on the hub — yearly keep, billable weeks, any tax buffer you typed there. This card does not clone that buffer and is not a 50-state tax engine. $270 is 3 × 90 written as money. Invoice in another currency on the hub. Still guessing at $90? Start on how to set a freelance rate.

White-label extra = hours you type to strip branding and rebuild a nameless pack × hourly floor. Time the work from hunting credits to the export they can claim as in-house. Three hours is 3. A full cover-and-metadata rebuild is 6. Putting that nameless pack onto their stationery is extra hours you type — not 20% of the project, not a portfolio-value multiplier, not a per-slide ghosting ticket. This card will not mint “white label is 20% of the project,” a free byline deletion, or a lost-case-study surcharge grid.

Worked USD: 3h × $90 = $270

Preset: 3 strip / rebuild hours. Floor $90. Letterhead hours 0. White-label extra: 3 × $90 = $270.

That $270 is the nameless pack. It sits on top of a quote that assumed you could show the work. It is not emptying your week of other clients. It is not granting more users the same file. It is not handing over the native Figma. Name the dollars before you delete the credit. Do not wait for “ghosting was in the original fee.” This page never put a byline-off pass inside that fee.

Third preset: 6 hours at the same $90. Extra: 6 × $90 = $540. You typed the 6. This page did not. A longer rebuild — new cover, scrubbed metadata, a second export — is still hours × floor, still billed because they asked the name off, still not 20% of anything and still not a portfolio-value multiplier.

Their letterhead is extra hours, not a ghosting percent

Second preset: same 3 strip hours, same $90. They also want the nameless pack on their stationery. You type 2 extra hours for that restyle. Billed hours: 3 + 2 = 5. White-label extra: 5 × $90 = $450. Strip labor is $270. Letterhead labor is $180.

Those letterhead hours did not mint a 20% white-label line. There is no ghosting-percent grid here, and there is no “lost portfolio value × 1.5” this page will run. You typed extra hours. The card multiplied hours × floor. If they said “put it on our letterhead” and extra hours stay 0, extra hours stay 0 — this page will not invent a percent of the original quote so the math looks official, and it will not invent a portfolio-value multiplier. Type the hours that restyle actually costs, or leave that box at 0.

This is not a lockout, a wider grant, a zip, or a runbook

Hours/week they freeze you from other clients is a different product. That lockout lives on the exclusivity card: typical weekly hours × weeks × floor × the share of the week they actually block. Taking your name off a file does not empty the rest of the calendar. Emptying the calendar does not strip a credit line. Want both — no byline and no other clients — put strip hours here and lockout weeks there. Two invoices. Do not bury a competitor freeze inside “make it look like we made it.”

More users of the same file is also a different product. Web vs paid vs a wider grant is the usage-license extra: hours already in the quote × floor × a multiplier they type. Default extra 0.5 there is a half-again example they type, not 2× for nationwide ads, not copyright law. A bigger audience still has your name on the file unless they also asked this card. A nameless pack does not, by itself, license more seats. Do not hide a byline-off ask inside a usage multiplier, and do not hide more users inside a credit-strip line.

The native Figma / PSD / AE project after they already bought the PDF, MP4, or site lives on the source-files card. That extra is package/handoff hours × floor (worked 2h × $90 = $180). Sending the .fig lets them edit layers. Sending a nameless PDF lets them claim the work. Those are not the same zip. Want both? Package hours there, strip hours here.

Written steps so the next person can run the thing without you live on the documentation card. Worked example there: 6h × $90 = $540. A runbook still has an author. A nameless pack hides the author. Writing an SOP does not take the credit off the cover. If they want both, put writing hours there and strip hours here.

They did not ask you to publish the work. A public writeup, stills, and a quote they can post — hours you type × floor, 4h × $90 = $360, not free marketing, not 10% of the project — lives on the case-study card. That product puts your name ON a page they can share. This product takes your name OFF the file. Opposite asks. Want both — a nameless client pack and a version you can publish? Strip hours here, writeup hours there. Do not treat “no case study” as the same sentence as “write the case study.”

Paste the line before you strip the credit

Name the strip / rebuild hours. Name the floor. Name $270 (or whatever the card shows). Name that it sits on a quote that assumed you could show the work. If letterhead hours are on, name those too. Copy from this card so the dollars in the email match the dollars on screen.

Leave out guilt and “everyone knows ghosting is 20%.” That speech turns a byline into a fight. This page has no official white-label percent and no portfolio-value multiplier. No confirmed fee, no credit stripped. A competitor lockout belongs on exclusivity. More users of the same file belong on usage-license. Native working files belong on source-files. A written runbook belongs on documentation. A public writeup they can post belongs on case-study. If the $90 floor moved, rebuild it on the hub, then name this nameless pack.

Planning math, not a ghosting policy

Planning numbers only — not legal, tax, or collections advice. No mandated white-label percent, no statute that prices a no-credit clause, no 20% slice of a shipped job, no portfolio-value multiplier, and no 50-state tax engine. Keep the contract you already signed. Need enforceable no-portfolio or no-attribution language? Hire counsel where you work before the credit comes off. Filling this card does not draft that language.

Inputs: hours to strip branding / rebuild a nameless pack, hourly floor, extra hours to restyle onto their letterhead (not a ghosting percent). Outputs: billed hours, white-label extra, one pasteable sentence. USD labels here; live currency and the tax buffer stay on the hub.

Billable weeks moved? Recalculate the floor on the hub before you price the nameless pack. This page names a byline-off ask — hours to strip branding × floor, letterhead as extra hours, not 20% of the job, not a portfolio-value multiplier. Hours/week they lock you from other clients: exclusivity. More users of the same file: usage-license. Native files after a bought delivery: source-files. Written docs the next person reads without you: documentation. Public writeup, stills, and a quote they can post: case-study.

FAQ

How do I charge when a client wants freelance work white-label with no case study and no name on the file?

White-label extra is hours you type to strip branding and rebuild a nameless pack × your hourly floor. The original quote assumed you could show the work. Taking the byline off, killing the case study, and exporting a file they can claim as in-house is extra clock on top of that quote. Planning numbers, not a contract.

Is a freelance white-label fee 20% of the project or a portfolio-value multiplier?

Not on this card. There is no official 20% white-label slice, no required ghosting percent of the job, and no portfolio-value multiplier this page will mint. 3 hours × a $90 floor is $270 because you typed 3 and 90. Clear the 3 if your strip-and-rebuild clock is different.

How does restyling the work onto their letterhead change a freelance white-label fee?

Putting the nameless pack on their stationery, cover, or in-house template is extra hours you type — not a fake ghosting percent and not a per-slide ticket. Type those hours. This card will not invent 20% of the project for a logo swap. If they named a letterhead restyle but extra hours stay 0, extra hours stay 0.

Is white-label the same as exclusivity, a usage license, source files, a written runbook, or a public case study?

No. Exclusivity is hours/week they lock you from other clients. A usage license is more users of the same file — quoted hours × floor × a multiplier they type. Source-files is the native Figma / PSD zip after they already bought the delivery. Documentation is a written runbook the next person reads without you. A public case study is a writeup, stills, and a quote they can post — hours × floor, 4h × $90 = $360, not free marketing, not 10% of the project. This card is taking your name off the work and rebuilding a pack they can claim as theirs.

Is this white-label math a contract, a ghosting statute, or a 50-state tax engine?

No. Planning arithmetic only. $270 is 3 × $90 with a dollar sign. Currency and any tax buffer stay on the hub. This page is not a 50-state tax engine and does not draft a no-credit or no-portfolio clause.
