Same mailed $50. Mercari still takes a selling percent. Vinted still prints a $0 take. Article 169 (stamp 05/07/2026) charges US sellers 10% of the item price and buyer-paid shipping (Mercari fees explained). Selling basics still says there are no fees for selling; How it works still says you keep 100% of what you earn (Vinted fees explained). Protection lines (Mercari 3.6%, Vinted $0.70+5%) sit on the buyer. They do not come off keep. Identity of this card: 10% of item+ship vs sticker keep. Depop vs Vinted is Stripe 3.3%+$0.45 vs that Wallet ($47.90, not $45.00). Depop vs Mercari is processing vs 10% (Boost can invert). Empty postage is the unit: Wallet leftover equals the listed price; Mercari’s 10% only expands if you paste a buyer-paid ship dollar.
Default: $50 sticker, postage field blank = $0 (item-keep: Wallet keep is the listed price; Mercari’s 10% follows buyer-paid postage only if you paste it). Instant Pay stays off until you toggle it. Vinted bump is receipt-only. Neither Mercari’s 3.6% Buyer Protection nor Vinted Buyer Protection is taken from keep.
Mercari leftover = sticker (+ pasted buyer-paid postage) − 10% of (sticker + postage) − optional Instant Pay $3. Vinted leftover = sticker − any bump dollar you paste. US seller help does not print a selling percent to subtract. Buyer Protection lines remain buyer checkout. Planning math only.
Listing is $0 on Mercari. Payout is not. Article 169 still takes 10% of the item plus whatever the buyer paid to ship — postage that funds the prepaid label, not extra keep. Vinted is not a second 10% column. US seller help still sends the listed price to the Wallet. That is why $50 empty-ship leftover is $45.00 vs $50.00 here, not the $47.90 vs $50.00 Stripe leftover on Depop vs Vinted, and not the processing-versus-10% invert on Depop vs Mercari. Instant Pay is a Mercari cash-out. It is not a Vinted percent.
| Line | Mercari US (new / updated listing) | Vinted US (vinted.com, USD) |
|---|---|---|
| Seller take published | 10% of item + buyer-paid shipping. No extra seller processing % on those listings. | No fees for selling; keep 100%. Modeled as $0 platform take on a standard Buy now. |
| Fee base | Sticker + buyer-paid postage (article 169). A seller-paid label is COGS, not added to the 10%. | No seller percent on a standard Buy now. Bump is an in-app dollar, not a mill of the sticker. |
| Buyer checkout (leave off keep) | 3.6% Buyer Protection on item + buyer-paid shipping (169 / 2517 / 2518) | $0.70 + 5% of item on the US Price List, postage / extras / tax out. Charged to the Buyer. |
| Optional seller cash | Instant Pay $3 (ACH $0). Authenticate $5 / certificate $10 only if submitted. | Bump / Showcase priced at purchase. No public US grid. Do not copy $3 onto Vinted. |
| Postage in the math | Buyer-paid postage sits inside the 10%. $7.48 is 169’s 1 lb Best Ground Advantage cell — paste it; it is not a Vinted rate. | Default prepaid: buyer covers shipping. Wallet leftover stays the sticker. |
| Cash-out clock | ACH typically within 5 business days at $0. Instant Pay about 30 minutes at $3. Failed ACH $2. | Pending until complete; Available in 2 days; bank up to 5 business days. Help/68 prints no withdrawal %. |
Mercari (HTTP 200, 28 Aug 2026): Fees on Mercari (article 169) (updated 05/07/2026), fee-structure change (2517), fee FAQs (2518). Article 169, opened 28 Aug 2026:
“Effective January 6, 2025, a 10% selling fee will apply to item price and buyer-paid shipping for new and updated listings.”
The seller chart is still 10% of the item price + buyer-paid shipping for listings created or updated on or after 6 January 2025. Listing is free. New and updated listings have no separate seller processing percent. $50 sticker, postage blank:
$12 empty-ship: 10% × $12 = $1.20, leftover $10.80 versus a $12 Wallet. Ten points at every sticker. Depop’s $0.45 flat is a different cheap-item story — that lives on Depop vs Vinted. Article 169 does not print a $0.45 seller cell on new listings. Do not mill one.
Selling basics, re-opened 28 Aug 2026 (HTTP 200):
“There are no fees for selling on Vinted, and you can list as many items as you like.”
How it works, same fetch:
“There are no selling fees on Vinted. You keep 100% of what you earn.”
Help/373: the full selling price goes to the Wallet when the sale closes. Mercari prints 10%. Vinted prints $0 seller take. Keep equals the sticker because US seller help says so — not because we inferred a missing cell.
Bump and Showcase are priced in-app with no public US percent table. Paste a receipt or leave blank. Blank = $0. This page will not invent 10% (or any other bump rate) to “match” Mercari’s selling fee.
US Price List, stamp 1 July 2024, re-opened 28 Aug 2026 (HTTP 200):
“The Buyer will be automatically charged a Buyer Protection Fee… A fixed amount of $0.70; plus 5% of the item price agreed to between the Buyer and the Seller, not including the shipping costs, any additional costs and applicable taxes.”
On $50 that is $3.20 on the buyer’s bill. Shown here so you can see their checkout. Not subtracted from keep. Help/342 is buyer-facing (“usually 5% + $0.70,” can vary). Seller pages do not tell you to haircut the Wallet by that line. Subtracting $3.20 is how roundups turn Vinted into a fake 10%. We will not.
Mercari’s cousin is 3.6% Buyer Protection on item + buyer-paid shipping (article 169). On $50 / $0 ship that is $1.80 on their checkout, not yours. Neither buyer surcharge belongs in the seller column.
UK Price List typically 3–8% + £0.3–£0.8; FR/DE typically 5% + €0.70 — those are buyer-side ranges, not US seller percents. Seller help still describes zero selling fees there. This worksheet is vinted.com USD. Do not mill a UK range onto a $50 Wallet.
Article 169: successful ACH is $0 (once per day). Instant Pay is $3 per cash-out, once per day, up to $600/month, typically about 30 minutes. Failed deposits: $2 non-refundable. Those dollars leave Mercari leftover after the 10% already ran.
Vinted help/68 does not publish a withdrawal percent or a $3 cell. Wallet is Adyen. Copying Instant Pay onto Vinted “for fairness” invents a rate. Paste a bank receipt if one exists. Empty = $0.
$50, postage blank, Instant Pay on this cash-out:
Boost 12% can invert processing-versus-10% on Depop vs Mercari. Vinted’s published US take is not a 10% race you flip with a Depop Boost toggle or a Mercari Instant Pay toggle.
Both apps still mail. Mercari’s 10% grows when buyer-paid postage is on that sale. Vinted leftover is the listed price; How it works puts shipping on the buyer. Matching those two published rules means both postage fields start empty.
How it works: “Buyers pay for shipping.” US Price List: shipping costs are borne by the Buyer when the seller provides that option, and they sit outside the Buyer Protection base. Help/458: on “Buy now,” the buyer covers shipping. A $50 Vinted leftover does not shrink when they pay the prepaid label. Mercari still runs 10% on item + buyer-paid shipping if you paste a postage dollar. Dropping 169’s $7.48 (USPS Ground Advantage 1 lb, Best) onto Mercari while Vinted postage stays on the buyer compares 10% of $57.48 to a $50 Wallet — two SKUs.
If you paste that labeled $7.48 as Mercari buyer-paid postage and leave Vinted empty:
Paste both postage dollars only when both checkouts actually billed postage. Default empty because that is the published Vinted leftover (the sticker) and the Mercari 10% rule (ship joins only when buyer-paid). Vinted’s Price List has no public US label grid — checkout is the quote. Mercari cells come from 169; paste a cell, do not guess a Vinted tier.
Custom Vinted shipping is the disclosed exception: help/458 says the seller pays custom shipping upfront and should bake it into the item price. Park that dollar as COGS or in the listed price you actually used. No invented custom-shipping %.
Seller-paid Mercari shipping is the other exception: 169 does not add that label to the 10% base. Leave postage blank and park the label under COGS. Do not mill a seller-paid label into the 10% as if the buyer paid it.

Wallet leftover is $50.00 with blank bump. Mercari leftover is $45.00 after 10% on $50 / $0 ship. Instant Pay $3: Mercari $42.00 vs $50.00. Last checked 28 Aug 2026. Confirm in each account. Vinted $3.20 / Mercari $1.80 Buyer Protection stay on the buyer.
No. Selling basics, How it works, and help/373 still send the full selling price to the Wallet (HTTP 200, 28 Aug 2026). US Price List bills $0.70 + 5% of item to the Buyer, shipping excluded. Help/342 is buyer-facing. We do not subtract that line. Mercari 3.6% is the same class of buyer checkout add-on.
Official US seller help still treats Vinted leftover as the listed price, with prepaid postage on the buyer. Mercari 10% only grows when buyer-paid shipping is on that sale. Starting both postage fields at $0 matches those rules. A 169 cell against buyer-paid Vinted postage is two products. $47.90 vs $50.00 is the Stripe card, not this $45.00 vs $50.00.
No. It only changes Mercari leftover ($45.00 → $42.00 on this $50 sticker). The Wallet is still $50 with printed no selling fees and empty bump. Help/68 prints no withdrawal percent. Do not mill $3 onto Vinted.
Depop vs Vinted is Stripe 3.3%+$0.45 versus a $0 take — organic leftover $47.90 vs $50.00. Depop vs Mercari is processing versus 10%, and Boost 12% can invert that pair. This card has no Stripe row and no Boost invert. It is Mercari’s 10% of item + buyer-paid shipping versus Vinted’s printed sticker ($45.00 vs $50.00).
