They sold it at Rebag. Here’s what you keep.

Rebag is not one fee. It is three selling methods — Consign, Trade, and Buyout — and only consignment prints a commission you pay. Help is blunt: commission rates “are the fees that you pay,” based on listing price and category, as low as 8% on in-demand high-value pieces, typically 15–25% for most items, with the actual take on the quote. A $400 net sale at a typical 15% take is a $60.00 house cut and a $340.00 keep. At 25% it is $100.00 / $300.00. Buyout is a dollar they emailed. Trade is that dollar pointed at a Rebag cart (US only). It is not Fashionphile’s published 30% of the first $3,000 of sale price, not a dedicated pair of typical-band take vs that 30% cliff (Rebag vs Fashionphile — $340–$300 vs $280, chart missing, not this decoder), not The RealReal’s clothing earnings rate of Net Selling Price, and not Vestiaire’s US 12% + 3% self-list take.

Independent — not affiliated with Rebag, Fashionphile, The RealReal, Vestiaire Collective, or Poshmark. Checked 28 Aug 2026 (America/Chicago). Live fetch HTTP 200 with readable body: Selling with Rebag (three methods; Rebag+ “up to 5% higher payouts on every sale”), Help What is Rebag’s commission structure? (21 Sep 2023 body still live — take, as low as 8%, typically 15–25%; chart named, no chart in HTML, empty attachments), How does consignment work? (updated 14 Jan 2026 — Clair quote, free label, live 5–10 business days, Wallet in 15 business days after Sold), How will I be paid for my consignment once it sells? (26 Feb 2026 — Pending Sale is not final; Premium Payouts +1%/month up to 9 months), What is a Trade (3 Feb 2026 — US only; 3-day ship window), When do I receive my Seller Funds from my Buyout Offer? (4 Jun 2026 — 30 business days; 10% Spending Bonus), buyout processing timeline (6 May 2026), early Cash Out Fee (29 Jul 2025 — 3% for 15 days), Rebag+ seller Help (up to 5% more, max $300/item, Buyout and Consignment, not Trade). Gaps: the Commission Rates chart is a sentence, not a table we can parse — 2023 press that printed 35% under $750 or 8% on $50k watches is not this page; two official Trade articles disagree (5% vs cash up to $300 vs “10% incentive over Buyout”) — both labeled, neither worked as bank cash; Selling-with-Rebag says Rebag+ on “every sale”; Help excludes Trade; 2022 Wallet press said Premium Payouts for 12 months — 26 Feb 2026 Help prints 9 months / 9%; June 2026 cash-out Help names bank transfer; an older indexed cash-out also named check — live body is ACH; bank-transfer Help says 1 full business day; EXTENDED cash-out says 1–3 — both disclosed; this page will not invent a 50-state sales-tax table (Trade tax savings are “some US states,” computed at checkout). Match the quote in your Rebag account. Worksheet only — not tax, legal, or accounting advice. No affiliate links.

Keep card (paste the quoted take, or the buyout dollar)

Default row: consignment $400 at a typical 15% take$340.00 keep. 15% and 25% are the official typical band, not a category assignment. 8% is the official “as low as.” Buyout and Trade do not invent a percent — paste the quote.

15% is a take. Do not invert it into a keep.

Live Help, fetched 28 Aug 2026, article dated 21 Sep 2023 — still the body Google and this fetch both see:

“Commission rates, which are the fees that you pay, are based on your item's listing price and category. You’ll pay less for in-demand, high-value pieces (as low as 8%) and more for lower-value items. Most items will typically fall in the 15-25% range.”

Fees that you pay. Take. Same direction as Fashionphile’s “will take as fees… 30% of the sale price up to US $3,000” and the opposite of The RealReal’s “We pay between 20% – 70%”. A Rebag 15% row on $400 net sales is $60.00 to the house and $340.00 to you. A RealReal 60% clothing row on $400 Net Selling Price is $240.00 to you. Fashionphile’s $400 row is $120.00 to the house / $280.00 keep because their published take is 30% under $3,000 — a cliff Rebag Help does not print.

The chart is named. It is not in the HTML.

Same commission article: “Take a look at our Commission Rates chart for an indicative overview of rates broken out by category and net sales price. Actual commission rates will be be communicated individually for each quoted item.” (Their double “be.”) Live HTML on 28 Aug 2026: one paragraph. Empty Zendesk attachments. No <table>. No chart image. 2023 launch coverage (Fashion Dive, Vogue) printed rows this fetch cannot see — 35% on bags under $750, 8% on watches over $50,000, 15% on bags $7,500–$50,000. Those sentences are not in the 2026 Help body. They stay off this card. Clair generates the quote. The quote is the rate. This worksheet will not assign 15% to a Chanel flap and 8% to a Rolex.

Discounts Help (21 Sep 2023 body, still live): the take sits on net sales price — selling price minus discounts. The pre-approved payout range is supposed to already bake in their typical discount schedule; they say they only let a shopper use a discount if your payout stays in that range. If a later price cut would break the range, they notify you and you may request the item back free (Can the payout range change… and Can Rebag change the price…, updated 3 Feb 2026).

Worked keep: $400 consignment, official typical band

Inputs that are official: take is a fee you pay; typical 15–25%; as low as 8%; applied to net sales price; actual % on the quote.

  1. Net sales = $400.00 (empty markdown, empty tax).
  2. If the quote prints 15% (low end of typical): house = $400.00 × 0.15 = $60.00. Keep = $340.00.
  3. If the quote prints 25% (high end of typical): house = $100.00. Keep = $300.00.
  4. If the quote prints 8% (official floor; labeled, not assumed for a $400 bag): house = $32.00. Keep = $368.00.
  5. Wallet extras, if you pick them, on the $340.00 / 15% row: early cash-out 3% = $10.20 → $329.80 ACH. Spend-at-Rebag 10% Spending Bonus → $374.00 spending power, not a larger transfer. Sit 9 months at the 2026 “up to 9%” Premium Payouts line → $340.00 × 1.09 = $370.60 then ACH.

Help does not print these dollar keeps. The percents and the typical band are theirs. The subtraction is ours. Empty tax. Empty inbound ship (they email a prepaid FedEx label from a staffed Ship Center — not a drop box). Do not paste Fashionphile’s $3,000 cliff onto this $400. Do not paste The RealReal’s 60% keep onto a Rebag 15% take.

Three machines. Only one prints a commission.

Selling with Rebag (fetched 28 Aug 2026) is a three-lane page: Consign, Trade, and Buyout. “Control over how you sell, what you earn, and how quickly you're paid.”

MachineWhat the official % isClock into Wallet / cart
Consignment Take you pay, typically 15–25%, as low as 8%, on the quote; applied to net sales Pending 15–25 days; then Wallet within 15 business days after Sold
Buyout No published % of later resale. The offer is the keep. Process days–weeks; Wallet within 30 business days after inspections
Trade Quoted value toward a purchase. Not a later shopper’s sale. US only. Checkout applies it; ship/drop within 3 days or they may cancel

You cannot flip consignment to buyout after you accept (Can I change a consignment to buyout? — “It is not possible to change the type of the order.”). Mix-and-match across items is allowed: consign some, buyout others (2023 FAQ, still listed).

Buyout is a quote. Fashionphile’s 2–4 days is not this clock.

Buyout Help (updated 4 Jun 2026):

“Once your item(s) have completed all internal inspections successfully, they will be scheduled for payment. Seller Funds will be deposited into your wallet within the following 30 business days.”

Processing Help (6 May 2026): usually a few days to a couple of weeks after they receive it, then that 30-business-day Wallet clock. In-store offer Help: instant-ish Clair or a counter offer, “payment follows in up to 30 business days.” Online Clair: instant for most styles; image quotes 3–4 business days if Clair will not fire. After you accept: prepaid FedEx from a staffed Ship Center, or a store drop. Quote is on the item; dust bags and extra straps are not in it unless the submission said so (send-in Help, updated 11 Mar 2026). Ship within 14 days of accepting.

That is why this card will not invent “Rebag buyout is X% of resale.” The official artifact is the quoted dollar. Paste it. Fashionphile buyout is also a quote — and their sell-with-us clock is estimated 2–4 days after authentication, not 30 business days into a Wallet. Do not paste Fashionphile’s 2–4 onto Rebag, and do not paste Rebag’s 30 onto Fashionphile.

Trade is a cart, not a keep of a later sale

Trade Help (updated 3 Feb 2026): sell item(s) to Rebag and use their value toward a purchase in a single transaction. You only pay the difference, if any, after trade value is applied. Prepaid label or store drop. Inspection must match the quote. US customers only. If you do not ship or drop within 3 days of placing the order, they may cancel the purchase.

Two official incentive sentences, not reconciled by this page:

5% vs 10%, both still live. This card will not pick a winner and will not work $400 × 1.05 as a bank deposit. Trade tax savings Help: “some US states,” “enter your shipping address at checkout.” That is the opposite of a 50-state table. Empty tax on this worksheet is intentional.

Wallet extras: 3% early, 10% spend, 1% a month after

All payouts land in the Rebag Wallet first — consignment, buyout, even an in-store deal (How can I get paid in store?, updated 4 Jun 2026). You do not have to spend them at Rebag.

Fashionphile’s Wallet extras are a different menu: $50 wire, +10% on store credit or a Neiman Marcus gift card. Do not paste Rebag’s 3% early fee onto a Fashionphile wire, and do not paste Fashionphile’s $50 onto a Rebag ACH.

Rebag+ is up to 5%, capped, and not on Trade

Marketing (Selling with Rebag): members get “up to 5% higher payouts on every sale.” Join page: $50/month or $500/year, contributions convert to R+ Credit; “Sellers earn up to 5% more.” Seller Help is the narrower machine:

“As a Rebag+ member, you earn up to 5% more on Buyout and Consignment transactions, with a maximum of $300 per item sold, automatically reflected in every Buyout or Consignment quote.”

You must be an active member when the item is received and starts processing (16 Oct 2025 Help). Join after you submit, but before check-in, or the item pays at non-member rates (3 Feb 2026). Logged-in Sell Now flow already shows the higher buyout and consignment numbers — do not add 5% on top of a member quote. Trade is excluded. Infinity Exchange is a separate FAQ this page does not work. “Every sale” vs “Buyout and Consignment, not Trade” is the gap. Help wins for the worksheet; marketing stays labeled.

Pull-back is 3% of listing, not Fashionphile’s $75 / $125

What if I decide I want my item back? (21 Sep 2023 body, still live): request a return anytime from the Consignment section. If you are still inside the pre-approved payout range (typically about 90 days), the bill is 3% of the item’s listing price at request, minimum $50, maximum $300, plus a $50 shipping fee. If they already emailed a payout-range change, the return is free.

On a $400 listing that is still in range: 3% = $12.00, but the minimum is $50, plus $50 ship → $100.00 to get the bag back. That is not Fashionphile’s Authentication Fee ($125 Birkin or Kelly / $75 other) to recover an inauthentic or early-terminated piece. Different contract, different trigger, different dollars. Do not merge them.

Buyer returns on a consignment (updated 3 Feb 2026): 15–25 day pending window; if the buyer cancels, the piece is relisted and proceeds are not final. After Wallet deposit, they say the sale is final — no chargeback to you; they eat later buyer issues. Fashionphile consign waits out a return period that their April 2026 terms do not print as N days. The RealReal batches the 15th of next month. Three clocks. Do not paste one onto another.

Same $400, six different legal machines

Empty extras. Tax = $0 on this card because this is not a 50-state engine. Closet channels assume you photographed and shipped. Consignment channels assume they did. Rebag 15% is used only because it is the official typical-band floor — not because Help assigned 15% to this bag.

ChannelWhat the % isSame $400
Rebag consignment (if quote prints 15%) They take 15% of net sales (typical-band floor) $340.00 keep; Wallet 15 business days after Sold; they authenticated, listed
Rebag consignment (if quote prints 25%) They take 25% of net sales (typical-band ceiling) $300.00 keep. Same labor. Different quote.
Rebag buyout No published % of resale The quoted dollar. 30 business days to Wallet after inspections. Do not invent a cell.
Rebag Trade Quoted value toward a purchase (US) Not bank cash. 5% vs 10% incentive articles disagree. Empty tax.
Fashionphile consignment They take 30% of sale price (under $3,000) $280.00 keep; return-window payout; $3,000 cliff Rebag does not print
The RealReal clothing Trendsetter You keep 60% of Net Selling Price $240.00 cash; 15th of next month. 60% is a keep, not a take.
Vestiaire self-list USD They take 12% + 3% of sale price $340.00 keep; you shot it and shipped it; $15 auth is buyer-side
Vestiaire consignment USD You keep 65% of sold price ($150–$999) $260.00; they shot, stored, shipped

Rebag $340 vs Fashionphile $280 is not “Rebag is cheaper.” Fashionphile published a 30% take under $3,000. Rebag published a typical band and put the real percent on Clair. If your Rebag quote prints 25%, the $400 keep is $300 — $20 above Fashionphile’s $280, not a different sport. Rebag $340 vs The RealReal $240 is not a 25-point coupon: one number is a take of net sales, the other is a keep of NSP, different markdown rights, different clocks (15 business days after Sold vs the 15th). Vestiaire self-list $340 still has you doing the listing labor Rebag consignment bundled in — coincidence of $340, not the same contract.

FAQ

What does Rebag take on a normal US consignment sale?

Whatever the quote prints. Help’s public band: typically 15–25% of net sales, as low as 8% on in-demand high-value pieces. A $400 sale at 15% is a $60.00 take and a $340.00 keep. The category chart is not in the HTML.

Is buyout the same 15–25%?

No. Buyout is a quoted purchase. Help does not print a buyout percent of later resale. Paste the offer. Wallet in 30 business days after inspections, then the 15-day 3% early-cash-out window.

Is Trade a cash payout?

No. Trade applies a quoted value toward a Rebag purchase (US only). You pay any difference. Official 5% vs 10% incentive sentences disagree. This page will not work Trade as ACH.

When does the $340 actually hit my bank?

Consignment: after Pending Sale becomes Sold (15–25 day buyer window first), Wallet within 15 business days, then wait 15 more days to avoid the 3% early fee, then ACH (1 or 1–3 business days depending on which Help article you read). Buyout starts its 30-business-day Wallet clock after inspections, not after a shopper buys it.

Is this a sales-tax calculator?

No. This page will not invent Illinois vs California. Commission Help sits on net sales price. Trade tax savings are “some US states,” computed at checkout. Tax stays a labeled empty line.
