This page is processor after the cut. The hub is a different machine
The commission take-home calculator multiplies four things: sale × commission share × (1 − processor share) × (1 − tax share). It ships four tools (keep, sale needed, cut needed, stack of sales), a currency-label panel, and a tax knob that defaults to 0 until you type it. Its worked USD is $10,000 × 0.10 × (1−0) × (1−0.25) = $750. That $750 is keep after a tax share you typed. This page never takes a tax share. It stops after the processor: sale × share × (1 − processor). Same $10,000 and same 0.10, with processor 0.029 you typed, is $971. Two numbers. Two jobs. If you need the tax set-aside, leave this card and use the hub. If you only need “what lands after Stripe or PayPal on this cut,” stay here.
The hourly floor on the freelance hub is income, billable weeks, and a tax buffer you set. Hours do not belong on this card. Marketplace listing / FVF / payment fees on a sold SKU live on seller-fees. Views × RPM live on YouTube RPM. This page never takes hours, a SKU, or a view count. The sale is a number you type. Your cut is a share you type. The processor is a share you type.
Worked USD: $10,000 × 0.10 × (1 − 0.029) = $971
First preset: sale $10,000. Commission share you type 0.10 (the H1 “they pay 10%”). Processor share you type 0.029. Gross cut: 10,000 × 0.10 = $1,000. Keep: 1,000 × (1 − 0.029) = $971. Processor took $29. The 0.10 is not “affiliates pay 10%.” The 0.029 is not a card-network mill this page published. Both are digits on the card so $971 is visible. Clear them. Paste the share from the deal and the processor percent from the rail you actually use.
Second preset: same $10,000 and same 0.10, you typed processor 0.0349 (PayPal Checkout / Venmo / Guest invoicing percent from the PayPal invoice fees planning default, last checked 2026-08-27). Keep: 1,000 × 0.9651 = $965.10. This card does not subtract PayPal’s $0.49 fixed fee. A commission cut of a sale is not a freelance invoice with a fixed cent. If the money is an invoice the client pays, use that page. If the money is your cut of someone else’s sale, type the percent here.
Third preset: same $10,000 and same 0.10, you typed processor 0. Keep $1,000. Processor took $0. Zero is a number you typed — not a claim that Stripe or PayPal works for free. If they pay you outside a card rail, type 0. If they do not, type the live percent.
10% is a typed example. This page will not mill a commission table
Blogs love “real estate is 3%” and “affiliates pay 10%.” The H1 says 10% because $971 is readable, not because this site measured an industry. No MLS mill. No affiliate-network mill. No “typical commission.” Share is a fraction: 0.10, not 10. The box is capped at 1 so keep cannot go negative from a percent-vs-fraction mix-up. Processor share is the same shape. Paste both from the agreement and the dashboard you actually have.
0.029 is a Stripe-style US card planning default used on Stripe vs Wise (official list 2.9% + 30¢ on domestic cards, last checked 2026-08-27). This card drops the 30¢ on purpose. Inverse gross-up of a freelance invoice — invoice = (floor + fixed) ÷ (1 − percent) — lives on that payout page, not here. Links to Stripe and Wise are ordinary site links. They are untracked until Wise tags exist. This page does not invent affiliate IDs, Partnerize click URLs, or “partner” language. Not affiliated with Stripe, Wise, or PayPal.
What this page is not
- Not the hub calculator. No tax share. No sale-needed / cut-needed / stack tools. No worldwide currency mill. The hub’s $750 includes tax 0.25 you typed. This $971 does not.
- Not a 50-state tax engine. Tax set-aside stays on the hub slider if you want it. This card will not invent FICA or a filing table.
- Not marketplace seller fees. Etsy / eBay / Depop FVF on a SKU is seller-fees. Your cut of a sale is this math or the hub.
- Not an invoice with a fixed fee. PayPal $0.49 and Stripe $0.30 live on the payout-rail pages. Type a percent here; do not paste a 30¢ into a share box.
FAQ
If they pay 10%, what do I keep after a 2.9% processor?
Keep = sale × 0.10 × (1 − 0.029). On $10,000 that is $971. Replace 0.10 and 0.029 with the digits from your deal and your dashboard. 10% is the H1 example, not a table.
Should I also subtract a tax share on this page?
No. This card stops after the processor. If you want a tax set-aside you choose, use the commission hub — that is sale × cut × (1 − processor) × (1 − tax). Worked there with tax 0.25 and processor 0 is $750.
Is this affiliated with Stripe, Wise, or PayPal?
No. Planning figures only. Links are not tracked until Wise tags exist. No invented affiliate IDs. Confirm live fees in the processor you actually use. Last checked against the payout-rail pages on 2026-08-27.
