TikTok Shop does not take one blended “take rate.” A completed order can be sliced by referral (commission), a marketing program, fulfillment, creator payouts, and ads — and those lines do not all live in the same Seller Center screen. This page is the map; your dashboard is the source of the percentages.
Keep ≈ buyer-paid goods − referral/commission − optional Smart Promotion (if enrolled) − fulfillment − creator/affiliate − ads − refund adjustments − COGS/pack
Unlike a listing-fee marketplace, TikTok Shop’s headline cut is a category referral (commission) on qualified orders. On top of that, US shops that join Smart Promotion pay a separate GMV-based program fee. Fulfillment, affiliates, and ads are not “the referral fee with extra steps” — they are different bills. Model them as separate calculator fields.
Every marketplace in this family charges a percentage on the order. On TikTok Shop that line is usually labeled referral or commission, and it is category- and country-specific. The two public Seller Academy pages we opened on 27 Aug 2026 document US Smart Promotion, not a global referral table. We are not going to invent a sitewide rate.
Open TikTok Shop Seller Center, find the referral/commission % on the product, the fee policy, or a settled order, and paste that number into the calculator’s commission field. If two SKUs sit in two categories, run two scenarios. A blog quoting a single “TikTok Shop takes X%” is not your shop.
The official Academy pages we fetched on 27 Aug 2026 do not publish a separate card-processing schedule. We will not invent one. Some shops see only the referral line; others see additional settlement items. If your statement has a distinct processing or transaction %, put it in the calculator’s transaction field. If it does not, leave that field at 0 so you are not double-counting.
For United States sellers, TikTok Shop’s public Academy article US Smart Promotion Introduction / FAQ (Applies to: United States; last checked 27 Aug 2026) describes Smart Promotion as a fixed fee on store-wide GMV:
| Period | Seller give (fee) | Platform take (discount commitment) |
|---|---|---|
| Non-campaign / regular | 3.5% of store GMV | At least 3.5% platform-funded discount rate |
| Major campaign | 4.5% of store GMV | At least 4.5% platform-funded discount rate |
That is not the same as referral. It is an optional (but, for many US campaign types, required-to-participate) marketing program. Enrollment is Seller Center → Marketing → Smart Promotion. You may opt out and opt in at any time, per that article. A budget cap is not supported on the fixed-rate Smart Promotion model.
A companion Academy page, How to View Program Performance and Costs? (last checked 27 Aug 2026), names the settlement lines:
The same costs page is explicit: the “Smart Promotion” amount on the order screen is the discount the buyer received. It is not your cost. Your cost is the fee line on the settlement statement. Data on the SP dashboard updates on a T+2 schedule.
Other official details from those two pages, kept here so you do not have to hunt:
In the calculator: put 3.5 in the service/program field for a regular-period US SP shop, or 4.5 when you are stress-testing a mega-campaign week. Leave it at 0 if you are not enrolled. Confirm in Seller Center; TikTok can change this.
Shipping and warehouse handling are a different stack from referral. We did not fetch an official FBT rate card on 27 Aug 2026, so this page will not quote per-unit dollar amounts. Seller-fulfilled orders cost you postage and pack. Fulfilled-by-TikTok orders cost you whatever pick/pack/storage/return lines appear on that order’s settlement. Copy the actual dollar amount into the calculator’s flat / other-cost field.
The Smart Promotion FAQ is clear that one order can be attributed to ads, creators, and Smart Promotion at once without meaning you paid three times for the same lever. Each tool has its own bill:
Do not add a made-up “average creator take” of 10–20%. Use the collaboration rate on the SKU.
When a buyer is refunded, referral and program fees usually reverse or partially reverse, and extra handling can appear. The two Academy pages we fetched do not publish a refund administration percentage, so we will not quote one. Open the settled order after a return and copy the refund-related lines. In the calculator, either lower expected units or add a small other-cost that matches your actual return rate × typical adjustment.
Both official pages we used are tagged United States. They are not a worldwide fee card.
Worked example without inventing referral: a US order of $40 goods (tax handled on the statement), plus the referral % copied from Seller Center, plus 3.5% SP if enrolled, plus the creator % you set, plus the fulfillment dollars on the label. The calculator is there so you type those, not so this article pretends they are universal.
It depends on country and category. We did not copy a blog 6% or 9%. Open Seller Center, copy the % on your product or settlement, paste it into the calculator. Last checked 27 Aug 2026; TikTok can change this.
The official US Smart Promotion pages we fetched do not list a separate processing tariff. Follow your settlement. If there is no processing row, do not add one in the model.
Only if you are enrolled in the US Smart Promotion program. The fee is 3.5% of GMV in regular periods and 4.5% in major campaign periods (3.5% + 1% campaign-period line on the statement). You can opt out; many US campaign types then become unavailable. Sources: the two Academy URLs above.
